CarpathianStays is a small, hand-run guide to the Romanian Carpathians — the homes, villages and roads a search box never shows you.

Most people discover this part of Europe through a search box, and a search box can only show what it already knows. The Carpathians are full of houses that were never listed, and villages where the loveliest guesthouse is the one with no website. We go and find them.

We are deliberately small, and will probably stay that way. The point isn’t scale — it’s that you reach a real person, get an answer the same day, and end up somewhere no search engine would have sent you.
