Viscri (Deutschweißkirch) is barely a village — 400 inhabitants, one main street, no traffic to speak of. The fortified church above it is whitewashed, simple, and lovely. The Mihai Eminescu Trust restored it in the 1990s. Prince Charles bought a house here in 2006 and visits most summers — the village has remained, somehow, what it always was.
